Would you spend a lot of money to uplift the economy?

I came to learn that since there is a lot of hype about recession and people are losing jobs, people who have money and jobs have completely stopped spending on shopping. This is a natural reaction to go hibernation in such troubled periods. But do you think this fear is uncalled for and would you spend a little more on your shopping to contribute towards the flow of liquidity in the market?

As global economic recession is spawling around the world, my hometown in China seems to be exept from this misfortune. Ironically, people around me are still buying this or that unwisely. But most of them have never and will never realize that they are paying too too too much for clothing and food. As for foods, I think we have no choice since we live on them. But when it comes to clothing, I can not understand because they are unworth of that much and in essence, they are only pieces of cloth. This month, I tidied my clothes and other clusters. And I selected two packs of clothes of mine and I have thrown them away with no hesitation. A few pieces have never been worn even once. someone may wonder why didn't I donate them to charity organization? It isn't that I am unwilling to do that but there is no way for me to do that ! And from this, I realize how stupid and shallow I used to be that I have spent so much on clothes. When they are out of fashion, they are meaningless as i said," they are only pieces of cloth"! And another interesting but abnormal issue is that price of housing in my hometown---shenyang, China is still going up! In fact, the demand for housing has profoundly exceeded the actual need. The mentality of possessing one or more houses still takes deep root in civilians, which produces one another estate big shot. In a word, I don't see people around me cutting off their expenses on unnecessary stuff at all.
