what is the essence of going to church?

For me going to church is a place to fellowship with people who have the same beliefs as you, a place to worship and praise God.

precisely... it's like eating foods in your own house. you have to eat regularly even if the menus gets the same for over the years. it's for your physical health. it's the same way in nurturing our spiritual life. we have to go to church and listen to the sermons, teachings and preachings to keep our spiritual life healthy..

I think some people need something to believe in, I am not qa religious person although I do believe there is something , more spiritual, inner self. but I do not believe in man made churches that close their doors when there are people living out in the cold, or ordinary men living off their flock....I think we should believe in our selves more.
