Circumcision

I understand that circumcision is a religious practice as well as a cultural one, but I don't agree with it, and rarely is it medically necessary. If I ever had to have it done to a child, I would absolutely insist that anaesthetic be used, and even then, I would only allow it to be performed if it were indeed medically necessary. I've never understood why people would simply allow that to happen to a child because it's "what people do". It might be traditional or a cultural norm, but so are many other practices that shouldn't be allowed by law.

I am glad I have never had to make this decision, it must be very hard, I can see both sides of the argument....I feel for any one in that position...

It depends on the doctor you ask...some say it should be done and others say not. My nephew was not circumsized and he's had a couple of bladder infections which doctors suspect could've been because he wasn't circumsized, however he hasn't had an infection for awhile now and he's fine.

Im not circumcised, and i actually think that this is a brutal act when done on newborn kids. Nevermind if this is some religion or cultural tradition, if i had a kid, i would only look for circumcition if there is really a necesity to have that done. its not necessary to be circumcised if you keep clean, plus i think it would be uncormftable to be circumcised. im 21 and never had any disease

I have 2 boys and we got them circ right after birth. I hated it, but my husband is circ, and I thought for our family thats what needed to be done, Plus I didnt want to do it later when they were older
