Levels? How do you get a best response?

Can anyone explain for me what levels are in the various discussion groups? These have me confused and stumped. What purpose do they serve? Is their level different depending on how many posts a person has in one discussion area versus another? Another question I have is, I've tried and tried and tried to put some good responses down in my posts, but I've been here five days now and have not gotten a best response. Doe this affect your payout? I mean, I have 35 posts and have only made $0.60. What kind of things are people looking for to select a best response. I was sure I was going to get on earlier, having been through almost the exact situation another poster was in now, and giving them advice to get through it, and it was a nice, long, clear to read post. Yet, they didn't give any ratings at all. Myself, I rate anyone who bothers to respond to me. Anyone have some tips? Thanks.

Honestly I couldn't tell ya, even though I have been here long enough to have time to find out, but I do want to express that I have been chosen a number of times, being given a "best response" rating :)

As far as levels is concerne, I am not all that positive myself. I think it has to do with posting in disucssions for that category, but then, I may be way off. There may be others here who know and can explain it. As far as best responsee is concerned, you just have to do your best and give as good a reasponse as you can. The one who starts the discusion chooses from all the responses that person receives. It all depends on what the discussion is about and how well you respond to the discussion at hand. I have quite a few best responses, and I am thankful for each and everyone of them, but you know, they were all totally unexpected. I really wouldn't worry to much as you are just getting started. As time goes on, users will get to know you better and it is possible you will get some best responses. I didn't get any when I started either, but it never really bothered me. I just post my thoughts, and if I get it great, and if I don't then that is okay too. I am not here to try to get the most best responses nor am I trying to win a popularity contest.
