Hey guys. Does anyone of you have any computer certifications like cisco ccna or any other? I do not have any at present, but I would like to take the cisco ccna certification one day. I will have to put more work into it though. Also does anyone of you know what are the most sought out certifications right now? I search for answers on google but those things change so quickly.

I was just asking similar questions on a topic I just created. Anyways. After some research, if you are looking to get some IT certs and currently do not hold any, you will want to start at the bottom and work your way up. I highly suggest getting either the CompTIA or A+ cert first. Then, I would go for the Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA)certification. After these are complete, then you will need to determine which part of IT you are wanting to go into. Networking, DBA, Security, etc. Each of these areas offer their own types of certs that should be taken. I'm going for networking so once the first 2 are achieved, going the Cisco route is probably the smartest choice. I found a lot of info on all available certifications at Http://www.TrainingCamp.com . It will tell you all about availability, scheduling, and pricing. They offer bootcamps and some self paced training for everything from Microsoft,Cisco,CompTIA/A+, Info Security, Oracle/Sun (Java), Project Management, ITIL, etc. Within all of these there are probably 10 different certs that you can go for. It seems that they offer a bootcamp that you will attend for 5-14 days. You get onsite, hands on training, labs, and then at the end you get vouchers to take the exam, and I believe you can even take the exam on site. They offer these in many cities around the country. You should be able to look at all the locations and will probably have one in your area. I'm in Atlanta and I'll be taking one of these shortly. Pricing ranges from $600-$10,000 depending on the cert and the length of the boot camps.

Most computer company have a certification for their clients. Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe to name a few, If you are certified then it doesn't matter which certification is sought after, you will always be the one to be considered by any company that you'll be applying if you have such certification. They can always use you to train their company employee since you are allowed to do just that.
