Hey there friends, in Chennai, the metropolis where I stay, the electricity charges start from,Rs.1.50 (U.S.3 cents) to Rs.6 (U.S. 12 cents) per unit of electricity. The charges goes up, as the electricity units goes up. The more power you consume, the more the charges. So at the end of the month, you have a big bill to pay. What are your responses.

I live in Bihar and our new electric meter is set up recently and the bill is going higher than expected.Monthly we have to pay about Rs. 1000/- which is a very big amount here bcoz being a small city, there is not much good jobs and earnings of people. These bills are like ,more than half the salary goes in paying electric bills. Now you may understand the earnings of my place.so, most of the people ,i.e. about 80+ percent of people steal electric in one or the other way. They are against the new billing rules but the government acts as unheard and does not understand the problems of common people.

We always pay for the other peoples faults and mistakes. The middle class is always the sufferer. Thanks for the response.
