My friend can't tolerate messy motel

Whenever we plan to go somehwere, my friend must choose the nice hotel, instead of messy motels. No matter how pricey the hotel gonna cost, it won't tolerate those messy motels, especially our recent trip to the myrtle beach. He strongly insisted to rent a beach house, which costed around $2000 for a week. Although I was unwilling to chip in that much money, but to accomodate his needs, I just gave in.
All these fuss because he had bad experience with a local motel a few years ago in a trip to Florida. The bathroom door couldn't be locked, and the bed wasn't nice at all. So, he has hygien problem with all these. What about you?

if you can afford it why not give your self the luxury so you can enjoy your stay. i can understand that your friend don't like to stay on messy hotel. but i still that your hotel of choice is too much expensive though. there are quite good hotel that don't cost that much.

He afraid to go into one of those messy, and low quality hotel again, that is why he rather choose some expensive hotels. I won't mind to stay one of holiday Inn, or extended stay delux hotel, but he won't agree.
