Have you ever faced death?

Were you ever in a situation where you thought you were going to die? Like a person held you up with a gun, or you were on an airplane that seemed about to crash, or something? How did it make you feel, were you scared? When it was over did you have more appreciation for life? I was in a bad car accident once, but miraculously I wasn't hurt, we skidded on a wet road and spun around to hit a pole. Fortunately no one in the car was badly hurt, but it was scary. I didn't have time to be afraid before hand, but after I remember feeling very relieved.
