Do you think one gets a good discount at malls or shops which specialize in merchandise.Do share your view.

It seems to me it all depends on the merchandise, if it is something that is not carried in other stores then you can probably get the best price in specialty store. But if it's a common item then no better to go to the discount mart.

I think it depends. So speciality shops are very expensive and tend to stay that way because they have the corner of the market (so to speak). I take my boys to the mall all the time and again it just depends what you are looking for and what you need. I think you can get good deals everywhere just not all the time. We also go to Wal-mart to get things like underware, socks, etc... Because I refuse to pay $20 for a pair of socks anywhere! Does any of this make sense? Happy mylotting!

It rings a bell.I accept all shops at sometime or the other give discounts and we have to utilize that. The place where i live even specialized stores offer fantastic discounts once or twice a year.

I dont think people get good discounts rather discounts in malls or big shops.their price is fixed and we have no chance to get discounts on anything. Its that we ourself feel bad to ask discounts in big shops while in the small shops we ask for discounts very frequently.

i don't think we can get discounts from malls here. maybe, if the store has a factory such as items as t-shirts, for example, and u buy in bulk, these stores may give u a discount. i rather go to small stores (even the smaller ones on the sidewalk) if i shop of clothes. we can haggle a bargain if we buy 2 or 3 items of the same type.
