How many of you have traveled in budget airlines, where even though the rates are cheap, the service is horrible, and you have to pay for all the snacks as well as the other food items. Now days, they even charge you for plain drinking water. If you have traveled in such sort of budget airlines, what is your opinion about them.

Do that, I will serve you authentic south Indian food like hot Idly , Vada, Sambhar, and coconut chutney. That is what I am going to have today morning. No non vegetarian food in the house, because of the month of 'Purathasi'.

I do not travel much. If I do I prefer the bus or train. However if I were to travel by air, I would much prefer to look out of the window at the clouds and the little scenes below. That would make me forget the inconvenience of the snacks provided!!

I think you have traveled in an aircraft before, because once you are airborne, you will be able to see only the clouds, and you will not be able to see any little scenes, like you have mentioned. Thanks for the response.

I have never flown in a budget airline. My favorite was always the Jet airways till the Kingfisher came.I love the service of Kingfisher. The food and service in their local flights are always on par with the international flights.

I have traveled on two budget airlines. I didn't like how cramped together the seats are. Even the fire escape exit had less of a gap than on a normal plane. I didn't like having to pay for food and drinks on the plane. I found arriving in Sardinia the budget airline arrived when it was difficult to get a bus from the airport. I flew from Bristol to Riga and the luggage allowance for a mean 15kg. I had to pay extra to get my son's 5kg travel cot carried. I greatly prefer normal airlines.

I have traveled a couple of times by budget airlines mainly , short distance flights for which you really don't want to pay the earth. It is ok with me since one really isnt looking for any great comfort and service because before you know it, it is over. However, if it is a long international flight I would rather pay a little more and travel in comfort..all the best ramesh , enjoy your sunday

The one and only time I traveled on a budget airline was in 2007 from Orlando to Rockford, Illinois. I cannot even remember the name of the airline as it is bankrupt already. I also don't know if it is a budget airline. Anyway, on our way back the plane was delayed the whole day (we stayed at the airport from 5 a.m. to 6p.m.) because apparently of technical problems. They tried to fix the plane by bringing in the spare part from Chicago (about 4 hrs from Rockford) and when this did not work had to eventually send for another plane to fly the passengers back to Orlando. That was an awful experience for me not only because of the long wait but also because of the uncertainty of the security of the plane. But, I am still alive so I guess no harm's been done.

That is the problem with the budget airlines. They run on such a small budget, that they do not even have the proper spares, and some other flight has to fly with that particular spare from some other city. I can really understand your fraustation .Just imagine, thirteen hours, in an airport. That must has been real torture. Thanks for the response.
