The present system installation disk is bootable. Bootable CD-ROM with the system installation disk difference is, but the computer implementation of the finished boot process, would hand over control of the operating system disc, or the system installer. In general, the need to boot to the bootable CD-ROM disc, an operating system (dos winpe linux). General system installation disk does not have this feature, but its proper transformation, adding select menu or using other software, can be achieved with the system installation CD-ROM boot disk-in-One. ISO image file is actually a separate file, and other documents is different it is by a number of files or image files by burning software production tools made of. Image files broader range of applications, the most common application is data backup (such as floppy disks and CD-ROM). With the popularity of broadband networks, and some download site has also been ISO format file download, the software CD-ROM to facilitate the production and delivery. The common image file format ISO, BIN, IMG, TAO, DAO, CIF, FCD.

A boot CD check and prepare your PC so that you could use it properly. Normally it check your basic system Input and Output devices, such as keyboard/mouse, display, printer, disk, memory and processor supported instruction and command. It is hardware specific meaning you cannot use a mac boot disc on a PC machine. Some bootable CD even contain a complete OS and basic applications like in live disc or distros for linux. Some only contain the basic startup programs to restore a system in case of boot up problem. I disagree with you that you can't find info such as this on the net. ISO file is one form of standard in writing and reading a disc image - meaning the complete content of a disc and not the individual file we are so accustom of. Normally we burn this to disc at once or we use an ISO utility program to open it, edit it or make a virtual disc(make believe CD drive). What is the relation then of a Bootable CD with and an ISO format file. In order for CD to be bootable, it has to contain a special boot program written specifically at a particular portion of a disc, This is not visible when we simply explore the disc. We cannot copy it to a disc since we have no facility to locate where it is. This is where the ISO format comes in. Since an ISO is an image of an entire disc the boot program is included in it. This is one of the reason also that we simply burn an ISO file. Home this helps.
