Hey all you homeowners out there. What have you done to your home to change it from the house you bought? What have you added, or taken away? I have done a bit of landscaping, and some interior changes to mine. I used to have terrible arbor vidas surrounding the front of the house, as well as a few small trees, and a yew tree that covered the front window...it just had to go. Minus the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs, I have replaced all the lighting fixtures, and installed new ones. I have wired and installed a ceiling fan. The prior owners had carpeting throughout, since they were an older couple. That doesn't work so well when you have toddlers like me, so the dining room went from carpet to pergo...the rest of the upstairs to follow soon! Have a few more ceiling fans to wire up and install and some painting to finish up, and the house will look brand new! A new deck and patio out back to complete the upgrade. What about you? have any plans for upgrading your house, or done any lately?

We put in a new kitchen and new stove, fridge, dishwasher about ten years ago as well s new cupboards, and took out the kitchen table since we eat in the dining room anyway. We also took out the insulation in the basement, repainted the walls upstairs, insulated the attic. Then after my husband retired, he started on the basement three years ago. Then he got what we think is ALS OR Lou Gehrig's disease. We then go the bathroom renovated for a walk or wheel in shower, got an ensuite in from the basement, new baseboards, new doors - Colonial style, and then we got a ramp in and a new sidewalk. That should about cover it. Oh yes, we did get new sod in the front since the kids used our front yard as a snow bank in winter because that is where the city would pile all the snow.

we have replaced all the appliances with newer energy efficent ones. Did some landscaping around the swimming pool area. I think theres alot more to do with our house that we dont have the money for and it will have to wait. Would like to update the furnance but that is very expensive to do.
