my aunt gave me a puppy 3 years ago and she said it's a mixture of poodle and shi tzu. three years have passed she's still very cute and lovely and bet she will stay like that forever. i would like to ask when is the right time to have her baby:) im always afraid that she will have complications if she will conceive. hope she won't.

I hope you don't mind my being candid, but instead of thinking of your dog having puppies, you should get her "fixed"..that is spayed so she won't have puppies. There are so many unwanted pets who are given up to shelters precisely due to people allowing their pets to breed--and since shelters are so overcrowded, many of these unwanted pets are euthanized, that is killed. The chance that your dog will have only one puppy is slim when female dogs can have as many as eight puppies in a litter.

thanks to your response. wow 8 puppies? is that possible for miniature dogs or toy dogs? i don't have much knowledge about cross-bread dogs. but i would like to have more puppies from here cause for me she's one of a kind and unique. plus my girlfriend is asking me a toy dog. why not give her my dogs' own puppy. hehe. i won't spend much for it. haha

It really doesn't matter the size of a dog, but yes they can have 6 or 8 puppies in one litter. And okay say, you did let your dog have puppies and you kept one and gave one to your friend...what would happen to the others? Just wondering

Aww, don't breed your puppy! :( Believe me when I say dogs are MUCH happier when they are fixed and don't have to have babies, or go through heat and stuff like that. Plus, there could very well be complications during the preganancy or birth (for the mom or puppies). It does sound like you really love animals and care about your dog, if you want more dogs adopt from a shelter or a rescue! You could find all kinds of dogs, mixes and pure breds. And places are getting SO overcrowded with adoptable animals they have to put some to sleep because they just don't have room. And a big reaosn for that is people breeding their own dogs and selling/giving the puppies away...that's 1-8 dogs that could have been saved from a shelter. I hope me speaking my opinion didn't upset or offend you in any way. I'm just always trying to spread the word!

i get what you mean :) now im thinking twice. i dont want to risk the life of my dog but i want to have puppies from her. she's so special to me and i want her legacy to live on. it's like having a son or daughter. sure you'll love your son or daughter to have kids. i feel sorry for the dogs whose got nothing to care for them. here in my place dogs are not so adorable and i think they're not so friendly with kids. but it depends on how you take care of them but it's still in their breed. some are very loving and never bites and some are loving too but they tend to have tantrums and bites. i don't like that. but my dog, even if you step on her tail or leg she won't bite you and i feel safe with it knowing that we have kids here in our house. her breed is wonderful. and by the way thanks for your compliment for my dog. it was taken 3 years ago :) she's all grown up now but we still treat her like a baby. i'll upload a recent picture of her one of this days. thanks for the response. take care and happy mylotting :)

Sorry to be so blunt, but if you need to ask this question here you should NOT be breeding a dog. I'm sure your dog is adorable and absolutely perfect in your eyes, but that does NOT mean you should breed her. Even if your dog was purebred and had papers (AKC does not count as papers), that doesn't mean she is a quality dog to breed. And if you think you're going to make money out of it...think twice. It'll probably wind up costing you more money in the long run. Are you ready for multiple vet visits? Are you prepared to lose your cute and lovely companion? Would you be able to handle losing the puppies? Do you have the money to afford a C-section if there were complications, which is common in small breed dogs? Can you afford all the shots the puppies will need, and the extra food? Do you have the time to hand feed them should the mother not produce milk? The sad reality of it is that there are more puppies born every day than there are humans to care for them. If you have a kill shelter in your area, go take a walk up and down the aisles and look at the faces of the dogs about to be euthanized and see if you still want to bring a couple more into this world who may face the same fate.

Wow...I agree with everything you said! SO many things can go wrong, and it does cost a lot and has a possibility to cost even more! Geez...I'm 100% for adopting (we have 3 rescued dogs now) from shelters and the picture you painted made ME feel guilty! I want to go to a shelter and get another one!! :(
