I am a British citizen and have lived in South Africa since 1975.I have SA Permanent residence but not SA citizenship. I am now 57. I have heard that I would qualify for a British pension at retirement age of 65 if I spend at least 6 months in the UK prior to retiriing. Then I can return to South Africa and draw the pension here. Is this true and if so how often would I have to go to the UK and for what period of time in order to continue to qualify for a British pension. What is the retirement age for women in England.
