Do you feel the Taj Mahal is a true depiction of undying love or the misguided efforts of an old emperor trying to write his name in the annals of history? Shah Jehan had also began a Black Taj Mahal for himself on the banks of the Yamuna but was cut short by his son Aurangzeb, imprisoned and killed. This project never really saw the light of day.But does it not show that these efforts on the part of the Emperor was to show off and flaunt his abilities and wealth rather than an actual show of love.

How about a little bit, no make that a lot, of both. The man was nuts. But he made a tremendous gift to the world. The Taj is one of the most breautiful things ever. Beyond words. I am so thrilled that I got to see it.
