Worthy,to some people, trasy to others. Some people view tattoo's as a sin and a disgrace to the body its on and to the giver of the body/a god. Others myself included see them as an important or treasured idea, memory, motto or belief. It could be a design, a symbol or words but it's always something with significant importance and meaning thats personal to them. It now seems to me that there is another group of people more common in our culture these day's, thay arn't at either end of the spectrum but fit somewere in the middle. They seem to view tattoos as a general statement of who they are and were they fit in. Also mabe just getting them because they simply like them or they've alway's wanted one. It's obvious everyone's going to have there own opinion, but the only person who should care is the person wearing them. Tattoo's, piercing's and other forms of body mod's are definitely gaining popularity and are now being viewed as mainstream. Whoever's getting them and for whatever reasons I don't have a problem with it. To me the more people showing up tattooed the less people their are jugeing them. People are now seeing that individuals with tattoos are no longer only being viewed as thug's, criminals, and inmates. ( well most people can see that anyway )

During the 80's & 90's tattoo are most popularly used by inmates without getting any views, only a part of thier past time or hobbies but today its like fashion, true that it was thier own choice.

I have heard tattoos described as "permanent jewelry." Most people may buy jewelry because it looks pretty, and they wear their jewelry sometimes or they switch the jewelry they wear. But some people wear a piece of jewelry because it means something to them, and they wear it all the time. Tattoos (the ones that are well thought out, anyway) are meant to be reminders of some idea that is important to the person. With a tattoo, you can carry the reminder with you always. I have two tattoos and I thought for a long time before getting both of them, and I have absolutely no regrets about my tattoos.

we can say it as jewelry because tattoo can be displayed but for me its a remembrance, a piece of art even though i dont have a single tattoo and itis forbidden by the Lord. Thanks for the comments.

Frankly speaking, tattoo are not accepted by our mainstream, though more youth than before get it. I really don't like the persons with tattoo. Sometimes I walked on my way, and some person with tattoo passing away, I always get nervous. After all, most tattoo persons in our country are underworld figures. Actually, once you get a tattoo you cannot scrape it off anymore. It's an indelible mark. If some youth really like tattoo, I think the one-off are better, because you can wash it away.

personally, I would like to have a tattoo in the near future, I'm just afraid that it would hurt so much.. lol. Though a lot of people, don't like tattoos, cause they say you are degrading the body that is given to you.. we are entitled to our own opinions. and I think tattoo is just another way for people to show who they really are.. a kind of self-expression..
