I was just wondering what really are those stars beside the name? and how does your participation affect the number inside the star? Well you see, I am new here and I just got my first star, but I don't really know why it is 6. And are these stars permanent? Don't they change? Please share something. Have a nice day :)

Hi offlimits,
The star is represent you posts (discussions/responses/comments) rating. It is shown how people rate your posts here. The highest is 10 and the lowest is one. Your star can be up and down.
The best way to improve your star is by giving a resourceful and helpful posts. Other mylotters tent to give a + rate for that one. But the easiest way to get it by responding to your friends discussions. They usually rate your posts and most (if not all) will give you a + rate.

Your star is the result of the ratings that other users have given your posts. Beside all discussions responses and comments you will see +/-/! and the more plusses you receive the higher the value of your star will be. A 10 star is the highest.
The colours depend on the percentage of plusses:
95.1% is blue,
85.1% is red
75.1% is yellow.
You can pass your cursor over the star and you will see the percentage inside it.
It may go higher or lowere depending on the ratings you receive in future,
It also affects your earnings. The higher the star the more you will earn for each post.
