How do you deal on unwanted software on your computer?

I need help... my computer is currently being attacked with a virus... i recently installed a anti spyware. "super anti spyware'- but it doesn't seem to work very well. although it helped me once in eliminating the adware that i got from mywebsearch.com. another unwanted software is present in my computer now. "windows pc defender... Is anyone familiar with this virus? pls send me suggestions how to eliminate it. thanks

I personally recommend Superantispyware and Malwarebytes Antimalware, these two are the best for these situations. I also recommend installing an antivirus program; this could help prevent problems in the first place. Good luck.

Hi guys, I already formatted my computer awhile ago. I tried the spybot destroyer but it didn't solve the problem.i don't know what it is- adware probably... because of it's manifestation... but whatever it is- i'm glad i don't have it anymore. thanks

Yeah.. it's adware. you can download following 2 or either antispyware which will remove all the spywares from your system. 1. Spybot search and destroy (www.safer-networking.org) - Freeware 2. Windows Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en) it's free if you are running genuine Windows XP/Vista Good Luck..

Yhe, it isn't a virus, just a piece of adware you got stuck with. there are probably a few adware removers out there you could try, but a lot of the adware you see is also in itself adware. I usualy just end up reformatting and reinstalling windows, i do it every few months to keep my pc running top anyways.
