My son is 8 months old and wonderful. He sleeps pretty much all night but only if I let him sleep in my bed. Even when he naps if I lay him in his crib he will wake up immediately and start crying as if he is hurt. He used to sleep in his bed with no problem until one night this summer it was extremely hot in our house and we didn't have anything to cool him off with while in his crib so we put him in our bed and ever since then he won't sleep in his bed. How do I get him to sleep in his bed without all the crying or do I just have to put up with the tears until he gets used to sleeping in his crib again.

Hi! I'm a mother of two. I have a one yr old and a two yr old. I had the same problem with my youngest son then my mother told me to use the shirt I had worn that day to swaddle him in. At first I was like well that's really gross. But one night after he laid in his bed crying I thought well I should try it and to my surprise it did work. This old trick even worked with my best friends baby. She was out of patients by the time she talked to me and exhausted from her new born screaming all night I told her to do this and her baby slept though the night. I'm no doctor or anything but I think the reason he cries when you put him in bed is because he cant smell you. Our smell is so comforting to them and to just lose that smell is probably a little scary to him. Best of luck to you and I hope my advice does help you out!! Tangler330's fiance
