So, who would have known that smoking cigarettes could cause a spontaneous hole in your lung causing your lung to deflate and having to have it reinflated. My family found out about this phenomenon when my daughter went to her doctor in chest just under her boob. The doctor thought it was just a bubble in her lung lining. After x-rays they found out it a a big bubble, air in the area outside her right lung that had caused her lung to deflate. The big bubble was caused by a hole in her lung and everytime she took a breath air would leak out of her lung. She had to have an emergency type surgery to inflate her lung and drain off all the excess air floating around in her chest. She is now in ICU. I must say the doctors and nurses have taken very good care of my daughter and everyone of them have all up and down her butt about smoking. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call for her and spouse to stop smoking.

i'm hoping she has learned a very valuable lesson. When the statistics say something is bad for you then maybe, mostly likely is.
