Shorter and shorter shorts

Ok i am a guy i have been well taught not to choose who who you like by looks and i do that because i like a girl that isnt th eprettiest of them all. but ok
What is the deal with girls wearing short shorts it seems like every few months they just get shorter, its like what is the point in buying 6 inches worth of fabric, i think short shorts are a wast of money and make the girls look luke *****, not too long ago people would find it direspectful. is it not considered disrespectful ( i know if i had kids i wouldn't want them seeing girls or being the girls that are wearing shorts that should be underware.
what is your opinion about this do you wear them?

I am a girl and I like shorts. But I am not pretty much into short shorts. If they wear very short ones, they might as well take it off and wear their panties instead.
