About the "division of properties"

Hi. I just wondering about this thing: when you marry, you do it for love, and you somewhat think that it will be FOREVER. However, many couples opt for the "division of properties", it is the same as "this thing is mine, this is yours, so if we divorce, we can have all the things ok"! I think that is REALLY BAD, because the love could not be shared, it's not a material think..you feel it and STOP. What do you think about?
