Anti-virus-programs (and antispyware) - suggestions?

At the moment I am using Norton Antivirus, as that was the program that came with my computer. But I am feeling it is not adequate, it keeps missing things that I can find with other programs, but can't remove with free versions. I regularly scan for spyware with AdAware and SuperAntiSpyware, and remove loads of things with them that slow the computer down. What antivirus do you use? Do you have any problems with viruses from this site or similar sites? And do you have any recomendations to better programs?

I believe one has to use more than one program these days. I don't believe any one brand catches everything. I use Zone Alarm and a couple others.

But I have heard thta you shouldn't have several programes at the same time, because they sort of conquer each other - so you end upp with less protection with two than with one? But maybe that is a missconception from my side?

I've downloaded the free version (or was it a free trial?) of Kaspersky - but at the moment I'm a bit affraid to install it - I don't know if I should uninstall the Norton first? Is this necessary, do you think? 'Cause Kaspersky is another program that people often recomend, and I'd like to try it.

I use norton also... I came quite complete if you use all features. I came separated from each other so you have to buy it all. Still i think it´s the best antivirus ever (though a little hard for slowest systems)

You mean if I get the "extra-bits" for Norton it'll find everything? I think it works well when it works, but I'm a bit worries when it misses things...

Never heard of it! Do you have a link or something to a web-page? Is it free, or free to try, or do9 you have to pay?

I use Avast! Antivirus and it's really good. I haven't had any problems with spyware, spam, adware or viruses/trojans. It's a really good program.

Is it free or does it have a free test version? In that case I'd try it. I have had problems with spyware and with trojans lately... :(

I think I will try AVG - it is mentioned by several people, and I want to get rid of the reproducing trojan in my computer, even though it doesn't see, to be doing much harm at the moment!
