How to deal with genuine advantage pop up while windows is loading

Hi mylotters, a friend currently has a system that got windows genuine advantage installed and suddenly the pop up invalid windows operationg system keeps poping up while windows is loading and click here to resolve the problem..
On loading the windows genuine advantage pirated logo keeps showing on the task bar.
He's utterly fed up and seeks to reinstall the operating system.
Now, i'm wondering if there are no other alternatives left before he does that.
Does anyone havve a sloution to this problem?

It is occur when microsoft consider your operating system as non genuine operating system. The solution of this thing i ever try was using removewga.exe downloaded from www.sopedia.com.

mysf, you are right... it's probably a typo... it should be softpedia... otherwise, it's aval in many other sites... search 'remove wga' from any search engine... however, it's always better to set 'windows auto update' disabled before you have the problem, if you are not using a genuine Windows... otherwise, even using 'removewga.exe' won't also give permanent solution...

this popup keeps coming back if u have installed pirated copy of windows .
and automatic updates are on.
to remove popup and to make windows genuine follow the steps;
1. open task manager.
2.end wgatray.exe process.
3.restart windows in safe mode.
4.delete wgatray.exe from c:\windows\system32.
5.also delete wgatray.exe from c:\windows\system 32\dllcache
6.go to start run type regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWSNT\CURRENT VERSION\winlogon\notify.
7.delete the folder wgalogon and all of its contents.
8.restart.
9.now go to following link and download program by which you can use automatic updates without any problem.
100% tested on me.
