My laptop keeps shutting down

I have an Acer Aspire 5315-2256 laptop computer and I've been using it for several months now. But lately it's been shutting down automatically particularly when I'm playing games. I googled this problem and I got several hits and majority of them says that it's probably overheating. Could this really be the problem? It's a real pain in the a** everytime I play a game especially in the most intense part and then it shuts down!

I too uses an Acer Aspire 4720 laptop and the things which I encounter is my browser always hang and the my browser stop responding. Then, it is probably the problem with my browser. While, in your case if it always shut down probably you download some program which is incompatible with your operating system, with trojan, worms or viruses. You need to install anti-virus, and clean it. Thus, the most worst things to happen is the problem with your battery and need to buy quickly a replacement. I protect my laptop by having it sit on a cooling pad to prevent overheating and i also use a small electric pan at the back of the laptop to cool to down.
