Is giveing somebody 0 participation points fair when they can't earn them?

About a week ago I finally got cleared to go back to school. I had a case of the flu (not H1N1 also known as the swine flu) and was out of all my classes for nearly 2 weeks. I caught up all of my homework made sure all my teachers saw the doctor's not and checked my assignments online to make sure I'd gotten them all and under my Physical Education class I had a 79% so I went and asked the teacher if I had missed anything. She said that even if you are absent for whatever reason, you are still given participation points. I told her that I was absent and there was no way of getting the points if I wasn't there to earn them and she said that didn't matter, it was still my responsibility! She wouldn't even give me the ability to make them up! She gives us a total of 15 points a day and over 10 days (2 school weeks) that 150 points possible, that's almost the same as three tests in her class that I got 0/150 for! Is it fair that she didn't let me make the points up?

That's not fair, if you have evidence or a medical certificate stating that you were really sick and can't make it to school then she should have at least given you credits. Like, extra work or something just to make it up for your absences which is actually valid.

It's unfair, your teacher should give you a chance to make them up.accident could happen to everybody, sometimes we can't control it.A chance is reasonable anyway~Talk to your teacher, and fight for an opportunity for yourself.Goodluck!!!

Hi, Stoned I think that it is understandable that you were not given any participation points but you must be given a chance to make up. A project that you have to complete would, I think, be appropriate. Just try to appeal your case to your good teacher. Hope it would turn out well.
