Well, everyone except me that is...I am an owner of two horses..I board them way out in western Broward county. Even though Ft Lauderdale beach if only 10 miles east of there, you would think you were up North in a country setting in this little town. The entire town is zoned for horses and most people out there have a minimum of 3 acres..I rent 7 acres and a barn and there are a lot of canals around the property with stagnant water in them..This yucky water attracts loads of mosquitos and disease carrying ones at that..The problem is so bad that today they sent news crews out there to take pictures and interview folks who live there. I just so happened to be at my barn, cleaning, when a news van approached me and asked me if I would mind answering a few questions for the evening news tonight.."Sure!" I responded and proceeded to answer all the mosquito questions. They videoed the entire conversation and my horses grazing as well...I was so excited!! I ran home and called pretty much everyone I know telling them to be sure to watch the channel 6 news at 5:00 and they would see me on tv!! I mean I told EVERYONE..So, 5:00 rolls around and we all gather in front of the tv and sure enough they say, "Next, mosquitos in Parkland " Here it comes I say and we all wait..The story starts and they first showed the property and my barn..they talked about the possible diseases we can contract from these pesty creatures and so on and so on..Then they show my horses, both of them, repeat a few things I had told them and poof, its over..No me, not even for a second, no nothing..I ended up on the editing room floor, cut out, history..My phone has not stopped ringing since..Everyone got a good laugh,,Hey J,,nice pictures of you on tv..ha ha ha..and so on and so on..Well, thats life I guess but it was a sad moment for me just the same..I thought surely I would be seen by potential producers and off to Hollywood by next week at latest!! NOT!!! Anything like this ever happen to you?
