How to give traffic to google adsense?

Hi i have blog on blogger.Thinking to add google adsense.But i want to know,how to give traffic to google adsense,because they dont allow traffic exchange or any external traffic site to give traffic to there ads.Then how to earn from it.I am a newbie on this needs some advice.how to use seo,keywords? Can i earn only from CPM?
