do you add a lot of monosodium glutamate when you cooking?

today i have a porridge which contains chichen imperial and some vegetables.the taste is so wonderfull that i eat it completely.but i can infer there were a lot of MSG in it from the taste.do you think the MSG is bad to our body?and do you uaually add it in your dish?
