Do you think Congress should have to have same healthcare as we do?

HR 615 On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment, courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn which would require all Members of Congress and their staff members to enroll in any new government-run health plan. Congressman John Fleming has proposed an amendment that would require Congressmen and Senators to take the same health care plan that they would force on us. (Under proposed legislation they are exempt.) Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go to his Website and sign his petition. The process is very simple. I have done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.html.

I can't sign a petition but I certainly believe that if a health plan is forced on the public it should mean the WHOLE public, including those enforcing it.

Thanks for responding even though you are not a citizen of the US. I am glad that people can see the need for our LAWMAKERS to be answerable to the same laws we are. It makes sense to me....

There is a search underway right now which is seeking for proof of the 13th Amendment, but not the one we were taught! This 13th Amendment was instituted back in the early 1800s and was to require that no one in public office could be a lawyer or have conferred honors. No one would be above the law, or hold higher position in the legal system. No one is above the law! Believe this or not, but at least 20 states have this amendment on the books in the historical pages of their states; however, by the time of the Civil War, most of the documentation was lost, misplaced, or destroyed, and now most states won't say it didn't exist, but try to say it wasn't ratified. The point is this, if the amendment does exist, and we succeed in getting it back into the Constitution, then all plans would be required to be equal. Which means no person, private or public, would be allowed to hold a better position than any other. The health care debacle would be moot, as the leaders of our country would definitely have to take the same care that they want for us. No better care, but the same!

Hey Tanker...thanks for stopping by. I did some research on an admendment too. The 16th. It wasn't legally ratified either. You'd think these things couldn't happen and I've heard that it is impossible. But judging from the caliber of folks I see in Congress now a days....I do believe it's possible. For info on the 16th admendment: thelawthatneverwas.com
