Did you see Time Travelers Wife or read the book?

Now that the movie is out.. which do you think is better.. the book or the movie? I compare to Nights in Rodanthe.. the book was amazing.. the movie was so stupid if I hadn't read the book I wouldn't have had a clue as to what was going on. So with Time Travelers Wife.. I want the best experience... so which did you prefer and why? And just one "inside story".. what does the husband "do" when he goes back in time?
