My kids have no respect for my computer... Now I have no sound!

The other day my daughter may have accidently deleted my sound off my desk top. Is this possible?If so how can I get them back? I recently got a new mini laptop. I let my daughters take over the desk top. Ever since, I have had to change the operating system twice, delete several stupid downloads that could've killed my computer. Now I have no sound. What can I do? I am taking the computer out of their reach for a few days until they realize that It is my computer and if they dont take care of it, I will put it in my room. I have had it. Now I dont know what to do. Is there anything I can do? Or is it hopeless? Please help me?dl
