Why players who go for international duties will get higher chance of injury? Just look at England Steven Gerrard and Spain Torres, or Darren Fletcher and Rooney. What is going on?

Because they have training everyday even in National Team squad. They will tired faster. That's why they will get injured even faster too.

I'm not too sure that players are more likely to get injured during internationals. I'm sure it's just part of the game. Athletes are bound to suffer injuries. The players that you mentioned all have a history of injuries, so it's probably just as likely for them to suffer their injuries for their club sides.
