soda or pop

What do you call it? Soda or pop? Growing up I called it soda, but have met many poeple who call it pop.

Neither lol, I cal it "gos" as I'm Icelandic and that is the most common word for it in Icelandic. I lived in a few states in the US and there were a few words like this that I noticed were different depending on where you were. There was pop, soda, sodapop and I remember one family who always referred to it as fizzy drinks. Another word I remember being different depending on where I was was dinner and supper. I got even more confused when I was in England and they started talking about having chicken for tea! I always thought the meal they refer to as "tea" was an afternoon tea or coffee with biscuits or something, not an evening meal. (If you are British and reading this, correct me if I'm wrong).

We call it pop here, we vaction in Florida every year and pople always laugh when we say it :)

I grew up calling it soda but I`ve heard people call it pop.
