In my opinion, they might be able to learn and understand the language fast, but when it comes to speaking, they might have some difficulties in pronouncing the words. However, I found that Japanese and Korean are so lucky because they can master the language faster than us foreigners from the other block of the world. Well, I'm from Malaysia, but still, it's a challenging language for me although it is fun ^^

Hello zhouxi. It is really very difficult for a foreigner to learn Chinese well, especially when it comes to the pronunciation of Chinese characters as they have four tones, which is hard for them to pronounce well. I have some American colleagues whose problems are mainly the tones when they speak it. As to learn English well, I think that it is very important to practise the four skills in learning a foreign language---listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening is the groundwork of the four skills. In short, so long as you use the language as often as possible, I am sure that you will get it improved in the near future. Give it a try, zhouxi.
