My fella and I went shopping the other morning in Sainsburys and when we were leaving, I saw a little kid (he looked about 3 years old) in the back of car on his own. I looked around the car park and there was no one around. We stood there and waited abot 5 minutes before a lady came back and got in the car. I don't know how long he had been in the car but she had 5 bags of shopping. I couldn't believe it, anything could of happened to him. It was starting to become quite a hot day as well. I was in total shock, how could she just leave her child in the car while she went shopping. Does anyone else think she was stupid to leave him in car?

I think it was irresponsible for the lady to leave her three year old son in her car in the Sainsbury's car park whilst she went off shopping. One time in a Sainsbury's car park I saw a car with a 'l' plate on it bump into another car. It drove away but luckily someone took its number plate. A question in the theory test for drivers asks what a driver should do if a fire begins in his or her car. Imagine how the lady would feel if she had come back with five bags of shopping and her son was missing. Especially as it was a hot day it was wrong that she left him alone in her car.

I wish I had gone and got a member of staff so that they could wait for the mum and tell her how stupid she was. What if someone had taken him? Can you imagine the look on the policeman's face when she says she left him in the car while she went shopping?

Hello friend, I really think she's that stupid to left her kid behind, inside a car and all alone. I also wonder why there is no guard surveying the car park. Here in our country, there's always a guard surveying the car park every now and then,so,in this case you can't leave you child alone in the car becoz it's too dangerous. I hope there could be a better law for this stupidity.

There is staff that go round the car park but they are mainly collecting trollys and seeing if cars have been broken into.

Yes, In fact that is a crime in most states for neglect and you can be fined serve time for such a thing. People should not be so busy that groceries or anything else should come before out precious gifts. I know of a incidence that happened in KY a woman left child in care. People went in to one of the store to call police. The clerk would not let them call from the store phone even after they told what was going on. The store clerk ended up getting fired and fined and the mother of the child was fined and charged with child endangerment.

that was so stupid of her to do that. i would never leave my child alone, be it in the car or anywhere else. i would bring my child inside the supermarket if i am to shop even for a short while. our shopping carts have a seat designed for children to sit, so i would surely bring my child into the supermarket and let him ride on the cart. that way, i will have my eyes all fixed to him throughout the day. i have read incidents like this in one of the U.S. states where she forgot about her baby and proceeded to go inside her workplace. it was so hot outside and the baby was left there to die. she was in the office for 8 hours and the baby sits there at that duration. terrible.

That lady is incredibly stupid, last year there was a case in Northern Australia of a child left in car at her grandmothers house for about 2 hours sleeping whilst her mother was inside, the heat was about 30 odd dgrees. By the time that they brought the child in she was so severly dehyrdated that she now has a disability as her brain started to shut down. You cannot leave your child alone in the car I would either have said something to the lady or have called the police - I have two kids and would never do that!!

You know the best way to cure that for that parent is calling the police and reporting it. Letting them know the make and model of the car and licence plates just in case they leave before the cops get there. They can still stop her and question her...but pull the survallince tape from the store parking lot...OH yeah they all have them. :-D Then she will have to pay the piper for her stupidity.......women like that do not deserve kids.

She was beyond stupid as far as I'm concerned..it was reckless and foolish for her to do that..even if she;d only been in the store for 5 mins it was foolish to do....but the fact thta she came out with 5 bags of purchases says she was in there for longer than that! Ppl like that just make my damn skin crawl!

Yes I think she is very stupid! I myself would of contacted the local police department. I have heard of this happening way to often and some of the outcomes are not good. I just don't understand why people do the things they do. My children go with me everywhere at this point in there lives. They are to young to be by themselves and ultimately way to dangerous without an adult.

Hey Suzy, there was something equally terrifying that happened back in September. Remember Michael Vick was jailed because he was 'dog-fightin'? Well, there was a lady, o gosh, I forget her name but she was one of those who was barking the loudest that he should go to jail for what he did. Ok, he did. He served his time and she was still barkin'. Come to find back in August or September, alledgely, she killed her own dog who was unseen in the back seat with the windows rolled up in 90 + degree heat! But what does she do? 'Oh no, I did not know that my HUSBAND had left the dog in the backseat'. I love people like this. When the shoe is on the other foot with regards to maltreatment, they lay blame on someone else as nothing is EVER their fault. She, of course, was not summoned for animal cruelty herself as it was 'an honest mistake'. Wow!

The question is, Does anyone think she isn't stupid? My state has recently adopted laws regarding this. I am not exactly sure of the details but that one would have certainly been a violation. I couldn't do it. I never did it. Even to run into a 7/11 and in full view of my car, I didn't want her to get scared or the car get crashed into or something. I'm sure it was tough to not confront her but if you didn't then you did the right thing. It would have just scared the child. I, however, couldn't have helped myself to appraoch her.

Not just stupid but irresponsable. Many times has appeared in tv and other places that leaving kids or pets in the cars is wrong and dangerous. I ussualy get angry with this people, When they will understand?. Something like that happened to my uncle, but with a dog. It was a summer, hot day and the owner of a dog left it in the car. The thing is that the car was just in that kind of places where the sun shines and brights stronger (poor dog). My uncle said that the dog was desperate inside, so he went into the mall to see if he could find the owner. Luckily, the guy appeared, and when he knew, he ran to the car to get the dog out. There is really stupid people in this world.
