when can you consider yourself addicted to books ? I'd especially like to read opinions that come from your personal experience :) here are mines: 1. you're addicted to books If you read more than one at the same time. I'm currently reading Alice in wonderland, Das Parfum, When Hitler stole the pink rabbit (for my research on litterature for kids) and I just finished The lovely bones a few hours ago 2. you're addicted to books If you need clothes (and I do) but you forget about it and use the money to buy books instead 3. you're addicted to books If you always have a book in your bag 4. you're addicted to books If you draw illustrations of what you're reading 5. you're addicted to books If you know that a movie is being relased from a book that you haven't read yet ... and you read the entire book in a couple of days can you add something ? :)

How about... 1. ... if you can't sleep no matter how late it is, because you just have to finish reading the story 2. ... if you catch yourself wondering what happened to a certin character - in the middle of a meeting at work - even if you're chairing the meeting 3. ... if you love the smell of old books 4. ... if your idea of a good time is spending ages in bookshops - just admiring the sight of all those books stacked together Happy reading, fellow book addict :)

Hi Nagikka, I love reading and am completely addicted to books (I have a book next to me right now, as soon as I'm done responding I'm going to read the book on commericals and watch tv) I think one is addicted to books if they fall asleep reading and wake up in the morning, read before getting out of bed, then taking the book with them to the bathroom, then to the breakfast table and then with them to work (in hopes of a few moments to read) and then reading during lunch and then reading as one is stuck in a traffic jam and then home, if the family is out, reading while making dinner and eating and then it starts all over. That is true addiction!

I read a huge variety of books. This one I'm reading now is called The Standoff by Chuck Hogan. It's fiction, psychological thriller about an FBI negotiator and a family that is barricaded on a mountain top, armed with a complete arsenal of weapons and the efforts to resolved this without the children (whom are also armed and "taught" to shoot "invaders" being killed in the crossfire. Pretty interesting and intense.

i consider myself addicted to books because 1) i keep track of all the books i've read. information includes title, author, when i read it and how long, main characters, how i rate it and some important facts about the book. :D 2) those i liked/loved were stored in my cellphone as ebooks, so i can read it anytime and anywhere i want 3) if i'm reading a book that i'm so intereted in -- that i want to finish so badly -- i read till morning! plus i read it anytime, anywhere i can even in a moving bus!

I always keep a book in my bag so I can read it on the train or while waiting for it :) I love your idea of keeping track of the books you read anyway :) isn't it a bit hard to read books from a mobile ? o_o

Hi, I am very addicted to books. I must read everyday (this does not include those technical stuff at work); so I often read before I sleep. Even though I've lots of books still unread, whenever there's a sale, I would go and buy some more, to add to my collection. I splurge more on books than on clothes or cosmetics!

You are addicted to books if - you have more than one library card. I have use two different libraries. One of them is close to my home and the other one is not that close, but I still go there because they have so many different books to choose from. - there are piles of books on your tables, in some of your chairs and on the floor. I definately need more bookshelves ;-) I always read more than one book. When I was a child my parents tried to teach me to finish one book before I start reading the next one, but I never listened to them, and today I still read 3 or 4 books at a time

You're addicted to books if someone suggests you "thin out your library" and you break out in a cold sweat.
