Hello Bart! Reading your discussion title alone got me excited! Much more, when I read the content of your post. :) Thank you so much for sharing this information. You know what, we are about to file our permanent residency application this week or next week. I'm just waiting for the $550 draft from the bank. I just read the advisory now & I'm very thankful to Canadian government for being supportive. We need that to boost our morale at this time of crisis. I was down for weeks. Yes, I'm an Ondoy victim myself but I've already recovered. I just charged it to experience since I can't continue to feel devastated. Life has to go on. :) As they say, when you lost something, better or more things will come after. This is it! I can feel them coming! Thanks again for sharing!

..hi wen!..ey we are in the same page here, i felt excited also when my wife canada bang me this news, it's really good news for us, our PR will coming up too soon, good thing i took a lot of pictures during our ordeal now i can back-up the fast tracking of my PR application..so we're are you planning to stay in canada? me? calgary, alberta, my wife is based there and she is current working 3 jobs and she's really exhausted everyday, that's why i want to leave our country as early as possible to help my wife and start our married life...keep posted hah!! malay mo baka magkita tayo doon...LOL!

Hi Bart! We prefer to stay in Toronto. We actually don't have any close relatives in Canada except my hubby's aunt (who is not really a 1st degree aunt). We are taking the risks to live there even without relatives who can look after us. I know we can survive. God is always good. :)
I'm the principal applicant & I'll have an arranged employment. Though we prefer to settle in Toronto, it may still change depending on my employer's location.
Btw, I discussed this special case processing with our consultant earlier. They are not really requiring me to present supporting documents yet. According to them, the visa officer will check my home address if we are really affected by Ondoy. I'm from Bulacan & it's included in the declared provinces under the state of calamity. That alone can already be a proof. Should the embassy request for further supporting documents, then that's the time we can forward them those docs like pictures, receipts, affidavit etc. But I insisted that I'll bring with me all supporting docs on our filing day. Better ready than sorry. :) So I have few days left to collate all docs. I wish our application will have positive results. Goodluck to us! =)

.good news, i just hope that canadian myloters don't find this topic and have a serious reaction to this. i have seen westerners talks about immigrations and their benefits in the government, most US and Canadian myloters doesn't have a good conversation in those topics. it's not easy to just go to another country, you will have to pay a lot of fees and training for knowing their culture. i have cousin who is their right now, i hope she stays long there..
