I still have floppy disks but they are all stored in my drawers. I am currently using my flash drive for it's high memory. I don't know for sure if I can still use my floppy disks though, especially when I have already transferred most of my files in my compact discs...

since I recognize USB FLASH DISKS, yeah never used floppy disks anymore. UFD much more efficient, much bigger space capacity, much faster than diskette and now UFD price not too expensive.

actually, floppy disks are still in use today. Many companies still use them. Specially in production companies, where machines are still old and utilizes floppy disks to transfer data. Floppy disks would not get obsolete for some years to come, because replacing or upgrading such machines are more costly than using other means of media other than floppy disks. And besides these machines can serve their purpose with just a floppy drive. But for personal use, floppy disks seems to be not practical. specially today that the cost of flash drives have dropped dramatically.

No, there is no chance of using floppy disks now, neither in my home nor in my office. I used to use them 10 years back, but for now it is either CD,DVD or Pen drives. Actually when we used these diskettes, the price of a CD writer or even CDs were too high and even it was not available so easily. After that we saw the revolutions of storage space when USB port invented. Now gigabytes of data can be stored in Portable hard drives and even in so small flash drives, as well as the need of storage space also increased. I have successfully managed to transfer all my data of a bunch of floppies to CDs and lately DVDs. So floppy disks have really become history to me.

No.nowadays we are not able to the persons using the floppy disks. As the storage capacity is much less when compared to the available storage devices now, using the floppy will not help us in any way...Also now we are not able to see the computers with the drives for the floppy disks. Some of the computers are having only the slots..But will not work if we insert the disks..Also the floppy discs (new) are available only with the few dealears. If we ask them about this, then they are looking us very indifferent..I also met the same situation once, just three years back..Now ,...we need not say about that.

floppy disks - we still use floppy disks to retrieve old files
i still use floppy disks when we need to get some old files which we placed there. we use it in the old computer. we no longer have floppy disks in the laptop and the computers we use in the office. my oldest son found a very old game saved in the floppy disk and they laughed because we still have the file. they tried playing on it again and they still enjoy the game.

No. I haven't use floppy disks in a long time. I understand your cousin. Maybe I would feel the same if I'm in his situation. Floppy disks is like obsolete now. New computer systems don't even have a floppy drive anymore. shadow41

I don't use floppy disk anymore ever since the arrival of cheap blank disk and lately flash disks, there's ton's of reasons why you should stop using floppy disk and one is it's very small capacity besides being out of standard since only few computers right now has a floppy drive.
