What memories of your grandparents do you have? My maternal grandparents were of a large family, with 7 girls and 1 boy. They ranged in age from adult to 2 years older than myself. They lived in a small house when I was young, and privecy was out the door. They were laid back and kinda just rolled with the punches. My pateranl grandparents were a smaller family size, with 2 boys and 1 girl. My grandfather worked and my grandmother took care of the home and children, and grandchildren, myself and my sister. There was a back yard to play in and a great garden with fruits and vegetables. Hollidays and birthdays were important and the house was always clean. But on both sides I remember that communication was minimal.

What a warm and comforting response. You are a very lucky person. Take in everything they teach you, and pass stories down to your children about them.

my paternal grandparents are of different race (Spanish), they have a large family, and they live near the beach. i remember the house, its really big and the they have this big land at the back. MY grandfather was kind to my mom and us kids, seems like he was the only person the was kind to my mom from what i heard from her. I cant really remember much of my grandmother just her face. I lived with my grandparents on my mother's side for years, my grandfather is a good farmer and carpenter, fisherman, he knows many things and is a humble person. i have learned a lot from him, my carpentry skills i got from him and my im quite good at gardening (and planting vegetables and trees). they have large family too, the house they lived in the province was a big one too and near the beach. my grandmother is good at cooking and baking, and i have learned from her also. They lived a simple life and they are hardworking people, especially my grandpa. They are all gone now.

I am glad that you got to experience all that you did from your grandparents. They really can teach us a lot. I think because we have more than they did when they were young, we should know that when we think we have no time to do what we want our grandparents spent a life of hard work, and they are proud of their lives and accomplishments.

Mine are also expired and I regret the time that we had and we chose not to spend it together. Memories do last a life time, but regret takes memories away. Don't you think?

Both of my grandparents on both side passed away. We don't always visited them because our parents don't have a budget for a vacation. Every time we visits them they are very happy because they seldom see us. We don't have an opportunity to be with them longer and to bonding with them.

hi binacheri, my father has 5 siblings, they live together when they were young, all of them had to do farming work when they were little, but my father told me that they would not feel tired at that time, coz my granny always gave them a big meal to praise them. my mom has 5 siblings, 3 girls, 2 boys. but my maternal grandfather do not like girls, so my mom do not like him either.:)
