How to Lock Down Your Facebook Account?

My tip on protecting privacy would be don't put a lot of personal information in your profile sections, be careful what you mention to "your friends" or people who can see your wall and profile if it's public and not private. A lot of times people don't realize how much access other people have to their information and than they don't really have anyone to blame for their misfortunes but themselves. My profile is private on Facebook and I only talk to people I actually know from work, previous jobs, school and family. It's my favorite website for social networking but I'm very careful with the information I provide. To be honest, a lot of older people who use the Internet don't notice a scam when they see one, especially when money is involved. They'll get e-mails and things of that nature that say "you've won" or "we need this information" and they provide it because they don't know any better. This is why spam messages go in our spam section of our e-mail provider, or well most do.

The best advice I could give is not to get too personal on facebook. never put your info out there and also put privacy settings on everything (pics,comment acceptance etc.).

i really have no idea on protecting the privacy of facebook and i really am eager to know how since i am a member of facebook too. i hope some mylotters here could share how.
