We all have times in our life when we get stressed, overwhelmed, frusterated, depressed and anxious. When this happens to me I like to take walks, take deep breaths, try to meditate and try not to stress eat. I have also found that journaling really helps me overcome certain emotions. I have learned many coping skills from different people I have met in my life. My roomate in college taught me my current skill set and I appreciate her so much for it! What about you? What do you have for coping skills? Who taught them to you?

This is such a great discussion. What I am doing right now is one of my coping skills. When I am depressed, stress, I just log in to the site, response and make some discussions and give my insights, as what I am doing right now. It is really relaxing. i can share my point of view in different topics and discussions. Another coping skill that i have is I am listening to a music, a love song music in youtube after doing that, I am already comfortable and I felt that all pains are gone. When I am in our province, I went to the seashore, just listening to the waves, and even talking to them, makes me feel so relax, that is another coping skill for me.

Wow, those are all great. I forgot that music is a big one for me too. Music can move me into such a good space in my head. I like that you use this site as well. I am fairly new here still but I am finding that to be true of me as well. I like to type my thoughts and get reactions from people, it can be therapeautic. The ocean is a great place to unwind isn't it. I live near the ocean and love to go down by the water and just sit. It can be fun on a really windy day to sit and yell into the waves and wind! Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you have a pleasant day!

I am sharing any single happenings in my life, whether it is sad or happy. i appreciate your good discussion.

myLot does seem like a great second family. There are many wonderful people on here and I have already seen so many sad discussions where people get very active to support the person starting the discussion. I love that this is here for people!

I always feel better if I just go somewhere and have a good cry. It just relieves so much tension. Then you can clear your mind and continue with whatever you have to deal with. It's ok to cry!

having pedicure - manicurist cleaning toes
when i get stressed, depressed or frustrated, i call p umy very close friends and talk to them. when i have problems, i share them with very close friends whom i have known for centuries. i play games in the computer and sometimes watch tv. when it is weekend, i go out with my daughter. it is so good to be in a beauty parlor; having hot oil treatment relaxes me as the beautician often massages my head. having pedicure too relaxes me because the manicurist usually massages my feet before applying color.

Sounds like you have some great skills that you have perfected over the years. Happy to hear that. Once I read the beauty parlor part I remembered how much my pedicure before my wedding calmed me. Also, the pedicure the day before I gave birth to my second son. Too true! Thanks so much for responding!
