Probably you are using linux, unix or MAC OS. These OS are somewhat less vulnerable to viruses. But if you are using windows, you definitely should have an antivirus.

I have set my anti-virus to scan every week. That way, I do not need to scan it manually. Of course if there are new files that I copy or save from other sources, I scan them before opening. But for the whole computer, it is done automatically based on the settings that I have configured my anti-virus to scan.

I carry out this task once per week every week! I use Norton 360 and I'm really pleased with it. I like the fact that it constantly updates itself every minute or so. This is one way that it is able to stay ahead of new viruses coming out onto the market. Sometimes I forget to do this when I'm busy at the weekend but I do it at the earliest opportunity, this should be part and parcel of good computer maintenance. Andrew

An automatic scheduled scan is done daily by our anti-virus. There is a scheduled time of the day that the system just scans the whole computer. We believe that we should have one good anti-virus software to protect our computers. So far, it has been doing its job. We are contented with the anti-virus we have now.

I have a scan scheduled for everyday. I used to do it once a week but I had a computer crash on me once so now I think it's better to keep up with the scans and do them daily.

Apart from the auto updates of the AV DB, I manually scan all the drives twice a week atleast. I also run Anti-Malware program once I am done scanning my system using the AV. This is just to ensure that any adware or trojans that were not detected by the AV, are detected by the other program.

I will do a quick scan once a week, and a more complete scan once a month. All this will be set in my anti virus program as then I have less worry on when to check my PC

I have Windows OS in my PC. Compared to other Operating systems like Linux and Mac, the Windows has very good chances to get infected easily if I do not install an updated antivirus. I have installed AVG free in my PC and I update that on regular basis. I have configured the settings so that it scans my PC thoroughly once in a week. This is an automated task and it runs in the background so I do not have to halt other works for it. Otherwise whenever I get any file from outside, I always check before installing or copying to hard disk. I am really scared with the .exe, .zip, .rar ,pen drives and those sites which easily infect computer when they carry virus.

I never scan my compuer until it run slowly or has a problem. I have installed the antivirus software. When there is a suspicious program, it will warn me to deal with. my computer works well and I think it is not necessary to scan it frequently.

I scan my computer when I have connected to internet and downloaded something. I scan my computer when I connected a flash drive which was connected to other PC that i do not know if infected with virus or not. To put it simply, I only scan my computer every time it is connected to other networks such as internet and media transfers from portable devices, USB drives CD etc.
