Hey, MyLotters! I'm curious...what are some of the most annoying song lyric rhymes or popular expressions that are floating around out there these days? For me, I have a few of them. Annoying song rhymes: "burning" with "yearning"; "desire" with "fire"; "maybe" with "baby". Annoying expressions: "ripped" (to describe a muscular abdomen); "change" (not a full expression, but it annoys me anyway) What are some of your pet peeves when it comes to this sort of thing?

I am tired of hearing "whatever" and "thrown under the bus". I really get annoyed at the word "freaking" because of what it stands for and also the WTF abbreviation that I see so much lately in chat rooms and forums.

Yeah, I'd forgotten about those. How about, "It is what it is"? That makes me want to throw a huge "DUH" at the person who says it.

LOL. "It is what it is" doesn't bother me very much because when people say it, it is usually because whatever the situation happens to be, there is usually nothing you can say or do that will change it, so bottom line is....it is what it is! For example, lets say someone is upset because you missed a deadline and caused a few problems at work over it. Missing the deadline itself is a "it is what it is" situation because there is nothing that can be done about the deadline - it is done and over. The only thing that can be done now is to work on solutions for fixing the problems that it caused. Are you following? I think this saying is today's version of "no use crying over spilled milk".
