So my parents will not let me take online classes they think that i will not be able to get into a good collage. Well i told them i am not going to collage in the first place so i do not know why they are wasting more money than they need to. So my question is... Would you rather take online classes and work at your own pace, or go to regular highschool and take 4 years to finish when you could possibly do it in 2 years online? Let me know your thought.

Its best to go to high school because high school isn't just about getting that diploma its about learning to socialize with other people and learning how society works. Yes high school isn't exactly mimicing life but you can learn a lot of things while there. Its the best place to see how stereotypes work, how there is this social ladder, and its a place to meet different people with different cultures and ideas then you. If you're doing classes online how to you expect to meet people? There are studies out there that show home schooled kids don't get socialized into society and have difficulties adapting to being an adult once they are done with school. Plus why the rush to get done? Are you really that excited about working full time, having to pay bills, etc.

But what happens if once offered the job you aren't competent enough to carry out the task because of not going to high school. Most jobs out there you have to be able to have extremely great personal skills with individuals and you have to be able to tolerate many different types of people. Yes you experience them all on mylot, but its not face to face and once your actually in reality and not this cyber created reality things change. Like for example its easier for me to hold my emotions online than in reality so I might think I have control but I don't. Thankfully being in high school I dealt with all those people on a continuous basis to where I learned what to do. And $60,000 is fine, but if you have a college degree you can get jobs in the $100-200,000 range. Think long term not short term.

Hello solson. It seems that there is a tendency that online classes are getting more and more popular, yet I think that I still prefer to go to a normal school for learning if I have to make a choice between the two because I think that it makes learning much easier in a regular high school. The teacher is always there for us and once we have something that we cannot understand, we can ask the teacher directly face to face. As to online classes, it also its advantages. Like what you said in the discussion, you can finish your grades within two years instead of four years if you focus yourself on what you intend to learn. So I think that it depends on your preference for it. Online classes is also a good choice though.

hi solson, i think there are advantages and disadvantages between online class and regular class. but i am on side of regular classes. you study not just for knowledge, but also other aspects, such as you learn a lot from you teacher and classmates in school. you have a lot good friends that can exchange ideas face to face, and you learn how to better communication in school.
