Am Just Wondering Why.......

Well, what I am trying to say here is, why is it that the system here in our country is very lax in terms of those people (mostly politicians) who are running for higher positions in the govt. Are there any strict criteria or qualifications to be followed before a person can be allowed to run to any of these positions in the govt.? Why am I saying this? It's because even those people who have pending court cases and who are still in prison and are already found guilty of the crime they had committed are still able to run to these very important positions. Even those who are not high school or college graduates, or even without experience have no difficulty in running as long as they are popular. So what is this? A popularity contest? No wonder our country is suffering....

Under Article 7, Section 2 of the Philippine Constitution, in order to serve as President, one must be at least 40 years of age, a registered voter, able to read and write, a Filipino citizen by birth, and a resident of the Philippines for at least 10 years prior to election That is the qualifications for a presidency position! You see how low standard? No wonder why anyone can run and seat on higher positions...

Haha! Did you research that? Yes, you're right. That's really my point. They are not that strict in the qualifications. Anybody can run actually. Thanks for responding! Have a nice day!
