Nowadays, i often come into some people who are asking for money in the street, someof whom are disabled and some of whom are children. I feel so pity for these becuase they cannot enjoy the life or other thinkg like their counterparters. I often give away some small changes to them every time i meet one. But recently i hear tht most of these people are not a real beggar, they pretend to be a begar at daytime but at night they go to some night clubs to enjoy themsleves with the money they got at daytime. So sometimes i feel cheated and so angry with them. What would you do if you happen to meet these people?

i have had realy bad experience with such people . there was an old lady whom i used to give some change evryday while going to college . one day in the evening i saw that a lad took all the money from the old lady and went away . when confronted by two or three people we came to knew that the he was her son and forced her to beg so that he can take all the money she used to get. that was a shocking event and after that time i stopped giving even a single penny to the beggars. i didnt care if they were really poor or were they just pretending . i stopped it all. and i also advice my frnds to do so .

for me it depends on the situation. If I saw a beggar who the appearance is really really not capable on working. I will give HIM/HER a help. If i saw i kids i will give food not money.because they might mis use it if i give them money.

smnor007 didnt u read the incident that i decsribed ?? the old lady really looked as if she needed money desparately . she was really in bad condition . but as it is said appearances can fool u !!!!!! u said that u will give it to the ones u feel are poor but then how can u sure that its the right one?? people are specially trained to be perfect beggars and thats a fact . many are amputated and made handicapped just for that. i would strongly suggest u all to stop giving money to beggars . whoever it may be a child or a grown up ...dont give them any money!!!! if u really wanna help them give them some food to eat and some clothes to wear .make them eat the food in front of you and make sure the next time u see them they are in a decent dress if not urs then atleast others dress.thats the only help u can give to them . i would still insist to everyone :STOP GIVING MONEY TO BEGGARS it will not help them it will only worsen their own life

That's awful! Sometimes I am afraid they are forced to beg from someone else, but I thought it was just my idea, not real...

I will give alms to poor people most of the times but sometimes, it depends on my mood. If I'm not in such a nice mood, expect nothing from me. Happy Lotting

yes sometimes i give money to beggers.. mostly i give money only to real beggers.. if i see a wound i think twice before giving money coz that wound can be fake.. if i see a begger without a leg or arm i dont hesitate to give money.. it is true that most of the beggers are not real beggers.. they beg earn money and it has become their profession..

every night when I go to work, I always see this person asking for alms and pretending that he is handicapped but actually, he is perfectly normal. but i don't usually give alms to the children in the streets, because for me, if you give them alms, you just tolerate them and just getting them into danger in the streets.

I wonder.......do we have to justify our giving alms to the 'beggars'? Beggars are 'beggars'. So when they BEG.......give them! Dunno! Does that make sense?

Beggars are not common in my country but I have seen plenty when travelling abroad. I was really sad at two I saw in Paris, one was an Indian woman feeding her baby at LaDefense metro station, I felt like desperate at her, what if she loses milk for her baby? And another was a black woman not far from the Tour Eiffel, she didn't look bad, neither had children with her, but her face was speaking by itself, she looked ashamed of being begging, it looked like it was new to her, like she had just lost her job, and she was really ashamed. I wished to hug her even more than to give her money. But yes, I give some when I am abroad.

That's the problem. Sometime, our generosity has been misused by some people. We are here having the similar problem. But I try not to give any money to children, because sometime, it is organized by someone. They are placing the children there to ask money and the organizer will collect the money from the children. The children only receive a commission from the total income. I also not giving money for a woman who brings baby on her arm. It was discovered that the baby is on rental. They rent a baby from someone else so people feel sad and give them money. Anyway, even though, it is not rental, I don't agree to bring a baby in a hot day in middle of the busy street.

i like to give food instead of money. i rather give the money to the charity org instead straight to the beggar because we can never know what they will do with it.

Most of time, I will give some money to the beggars. You see, In my country, there are really full of beggars around on the street. When I meet some beggars on the street, if I have some small change, I will give them some to let them have a meal. Yes, I feel sad when I realize that they are into a bad situation. However, it is said that there are lots of trained beggars. And some illegal groups steal some small kids away and break their arms and legs. Then they can be regarded with beggars. Happy myLotting!
