Should I visit my best friend during Thanksgiving?

My best friend went to college 4000 miles away. I miss him and he says he's lonely there. I was thinking it would be a nice gesture to go spend Thanksgiving with him since he has no family or close friends. My family doesn't put too much thought into Thanksgiving so it's fine on that part, but then when I looked online, tickets were about 700 dollars. That's a little pricey especially since with the budget cuts to my university, the tuition would probably being going up. Very stressed out on subject...

hi animegirl!(i loooove anime too but htat's not wat im gonna talk about rite now) yeah. if you feel like thats the right thing then do it. spend the thanksgiving with him/her. Although you will miss out on your family dinner, im sure they will understand you but in my opinion, i would just write a letter or phone them up for two hours or something. family before friends is always me unless yo feel like this is a time when your BEST friend needs you.

Haha, I love anime too but I guess you already know that. What bothers me is the plane ticket price though. I really want to save up so I don't have to go into debt. I also think that family is before friends but then my family doesn't value Thanksgiving that much. Thanks for your response

ya. but... i mean... go with your heart. 4000 miles is pretty pricy. like i said give HIM(now that i read your question two times)(last time i called HIM a him/her.=P) a phone call. telling HIM how much you miss him. write him a letter. and stuuff. you don't hve to express friendship witha personal greeting.

I know that tickets can go up every day or so until the travel day. So a ticket that sold three months ago might have been $400 but now it would be $700. That is a lot of money so if you don't wish to go you could perhaps send a Thanksgiving card. It would be excellent if you could go to see your friend that is feeling lonely. I suggest that you use the Internet to compare air fares, train fares and bus fares. Good luck.
