You could try a live CD of Linux. If the Ethernet works fine with the live cd then I would proceed with the other steps of checking for virus/spyware, deleting the drivers then reinstalling, trying another network adapter.

maybe thats a motherboard problem. but again you haven't specified enough data for me to intercept whether you mobo is faulty or your os. if your motherboard is having a problem then ill recommend you to send it to the manufacturer for repair. if you believe your motherboard is perfectly alright then try re installing your network drivers.maybe they have some faults. if you still have problems try formatting.

I do not have that bad of problems. I spelt some of my dogs antibiotic down in my keyboard and popped my spacebar off to clean underneath of it. Now it makes this really distracting noise. It is really getting on my nerves. I will probably have to take it to my computer man to fix it cause it is just nerve racking to me.

Well First of all scan your computer for viruses of spyware. Try reseting all windows settings for network connections. If you are using a dialup connection then delete the existing connection and then create a new one. If still the problem persists then there may be a problem with your windows. Try repairing the windows using the installation cd. After doing all this if then also you are experiencing problems then there is a problem with your power supply. Try using another one and see whether problem is solved or not.

There may be various reasons -- 1. have you updated latest service pack? 2. Check the voltage pump of CPU. Lack of voltage often crashes computer and back-up restarts computer again 3. Pump little bit higher voltage to sucker, you can go upto 2.3v. But be careful -- add a high power fan to control heating 4. check your CPU is not faulty. Talk to manufacturer ok - best of luck

Hi I am not an expert in computers but something similar happened to me two months ago. In my case the problem was some kind of spyware or something similar. Could be a good idea to check your computer with a good antivirus or anti spyware. There a few free programs that can do the job.
