So when the North pole melts, who should own it? Why do you think that?

Well unless you still think there is no such thing as Global warming, most facing reality know it won't be long until there won't be an icecap on the northern area of our planet anymore! What do you think is going to happen over this? World War 3? There's sure a lot of oil there! Should we have a world lottery over who gets it? This is going to be a global nightmare! What's your take on this? tdemex

A lottery sounds good because I don't think that the US can do another war. I think you're right that it will be a nightmare!

I'm afraid the first volley has been launched. The Russians put some sort of claim under whats left of the ice, Dropped it off with a submarine, no less. Now they say it's their territory! Let the games begin! Scary isn't it! T-----

Isn't there some sort of soil under the ice? Let them have the ice and someone else will get the ground

sir you can have the north pole, but dont bother me in south pole.. kidding aside your perception of earth future is very interesting, but my guess right now is US, China and Soviets will be fighting over that.

Umm...the planet naturally goes through warming and cooling phases, so no, I don't believe that this whole "global warming" junk is real. I can't understand how people can be so easily fooled by someone like Al Gore and the rest of his ilk, but I refuse to participate in the hysteria. Life's too short to worry about something that for all intents and purposes is a myth...a myth that's being hyped up by scientists who are all in the government's back pockets (so naturally they're going to promote the idea that the climate's changing for the worse). They want us to completely change our lifestyle, but they have no intention of doing the same thing. It's a myth. It's a sham. I am not going to be hoodwinked by Mr.Gore or Mr. Moore or anyone else like them.

And ice age for us is delayed thanks to global warming but no thanks to global warming for rising heat. It got its advantages but more disadvantages

I am wondering, why are people more interested on benefiting from this North-pole-melting thing than preventing it from happening? I really do not understand the minds of people these days. if the North pole melts, shouldn't we be worried that it may be catastrophic?

Well that too, however I'm worried about the land grab. There are new shipping lanes and of course the potential gas and oil there could cause some serious world wide problems! tdemex

Well, the north pole is just a big piece of ice, so it will just melt and drown up Russia or Canada. But if it is Antarctica, you have the real problem. Because it is far away to be claimed by any country and it is too south and it most important ly has LAND beneath!

Are you saying there's no land under the North Pole?

Yes, NO land beneath north pole. It just a frozen sea. Only Antarctica has land beneath
